Neve cosmetics products infos

WHERE DO NEVER COSMETICS COME FROM?

Unless specified otherwise in the product information, our cosmetics are all designed and made in Italy.

WHAT GUARANTIES DO NEVE COSMETICS PRODUCTS COME WITH?

Our products fulfil all legal requirements of the Italian Ministry of Health and comply with Italian and European cosmetics production regulations. Our products are subjected to patch tests and heavy metals tests with results that fall within the limits stipulated by the relevant legal provisions by a long way.

DO NEVE COSMETICS PRODUCTS CONTAIN NICKEL?

Nickel is not an ingredient in our cosmetics and the raw materials we use are controlled and comply with the Italian laws on production of cosmetics. Having said this, it is almost impossible for any cosmetics company to completely rule out that, at the source, the raw materials do not contain infinitesimal traces (in the order of parts per million). If you have allergies or particularly sensitive skin, we always advise you to consult your allergist.

WHAT IS YOUR POLICY ON ANIMAL TESTING?

Neve Cosmetics does not perform or commission tests on animals, in accordance with the provisions of European Directive 2006/406/EC. We would like to emphasis that the dermocompatibility patch tests on our cosmetics have always been carried out under medical supervision and exclusively on human volunteers, not on animals.

I'M A VEGAN, CAN I USE YOUR COSMETICS?

Almost all our products, including Le Metamorfosi range, skincare products, and all our brushes, are completely vegan. Some blushes and eye shadows in the mineral makeup and Gli Arcobaleni lines contain carmine, a non-vegan food colouring derived from a plant parasite. It is not possible to obtain certain shades without this colouring.
All products that do not contain either carmine or products derived from bees are listed in the Vegan Products section within the Beauty Search section. None of Neve Cosmetics products contain ingredients derived from the slaughter of mammals (e.g. gelatine, collagen, placenta, tallow...). None of neve Cosmetics products are tested on animals.

CAN I STILL USE YOUR PRODUCTS IF I HAVE DERMATITIS OR OTHER MEDICAL CONDITIONS?

Since our products do not contain petroleum derivatives or silicones, they are generally suitable even for sensitive skin. If you have particular medical conditions such as allergies, intolerances, or other medical conditions, it is always advisable to consult your doctor. We suggest you check with your doctor whether all the ingredients of the products you want to use are suitable in your specific case. You can easily find all the ingredients of our cosmetics online at the bottom of the product information for each item, as well as on the packaging.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE COLOURS AND TEXTURES THAT WOULD SUIT ME BEST?

Here is an article that could help explain things.
LHere is an article that could help explain things. Don't forget that, theory aside, the most important thing to consider is your personal taste. Which colours do you love? Which textures do you prefer? The Beauty Search function will help you find what you want in seconds. Alternatively, you could find inspiration in our video tutorials!

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINERAL MAKEUP AND NORMAL MAKEUP?

Actually, there's something in normal makeup that isn't in mineral makeup.
For example, normal liquid foundation contains ingredients such as: Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl urea, Butyl paraben, Methyl paraben, Ethyl paraben, Stearic acid, Octyl stearate, Isopropyl palmitate, Cetyl palmitate, Petrolatum, Triethanolamine, BHT - Butylene Hydroxy toluene, Ascorbyl palmitate, Ascorbic acid BHA - Butylene Hydroxy Anisol, Propylene Glycol... Whereas a mineral foundation only contains: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxide, Zinc oxide, Ultramarine Blue.
The only ingredients in real mineral makeup are ultrafine mineral powders: no oils, silicones, preservatives, or fillers that are harmful for your skin.

WHAT DOES MINERAL MAKEUP LOOK LIKE?

The loose powders in the mineral makeup range by Neve Cosmetics are contained in special transparent plastic jars that are fitted with sifters and screw-on lids. We use jars that come in three different sizes: 30g jar, 20g jar, and 10g jar: capable of holding up to 30, 20, and 10 grams of water respectively.

WHAT FORMATS DO NEVE COSMETICS MINERAL MAKEUP PRODUCTS COME IN?

Unless otherwise specified in the product information for each product, mineral makeup products by Neve Cosmetics are sold in the following packaging formats:

DIFFERENT QUANTITIES OF POWDER...

In order to comply with the regulations of the Italian Ministry of Health, the quantity in grams is indicated on each of our cosmetic products. Unlike many cosmetics companies, Neve Cosmetics has decided to indicate a much lower quantity of powder than the actual effective content. This is because, depending on their ingredients, different mineral powders have very different specific weights. This means that equal volumes of different powders can have very different weights.

DO MINERAL COSMETICS CONTAIN GLUTEN?

No. The products in the mineral makeup range only contain minerals such as Mica, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide, Kaolin, Zinc Oxide, Ultramarines, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Silica, Tin Oxide, Ferric Ferrocyanide, and in some cases the pigment Carmine.

MINERAL MAKEUP IS NON-COMEDOGENIC", WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

It means that it does not clog skin pores causing blackheads and spots.

DOES MINERAL MAKEUP HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE?

Because it's made of minerals, mineral makeup is completely inert, which means it does not change over time. The PAO (Period After Opening), which is how long in months the product lasts after it has been opened, is always indicated on the packaging and is usually 12 months. Since the products in the mineral makeup range do not contain preservatives, it is advisable to follow the PAO and make sure you always keep makeup brushes properly cleaned.

DOES MINERAL MAKEUP CONTAIN SUNSCREEN?

The base ingredients of mineral foundations are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, two natural sun filters. Obviously, the protection from solar rays is proportionate to how much you apply, which is why if you have particularly sensitive skin it is advisable to combine mineral foundation with your usual sun cream.

DOES MINERAL FOUNDATION REALLY LAST ALL DAY? DOES IT CONCEAL IMPERFECTIONS?

Mineral makeup is made of pure mineral elements, with no additives or fillers. You only need a very small amount to perfectly conceal dark circles under the eyes, redness, spots, etc., and if it is applied correctly, it stays in place all day without making your skin feel like it's suffocating like normal foundations do.

HOW DOES I KNOW WHICH SHADE OF FOUNDATION IS MOST SUITABLE FOR ME?

We explain exactly how to identify your colour on this page

IS MINERAL MAKEUP SUITABLE FOR DRY AND/OR MATURE SKIN?

Mineral makeup is generally suitable for all skin types, but to avoid expression lines (both using mineral makeup and using normal makeup), you need to follow a few tips when applying it: do not use excessive amounts, apply it evenly, and use a fixing product if necessary (e.g. Nebbia Fissante) to ensure it lasts. On dry skin we suggest using mineral foundation mixed with your usual face cream to achieve a more nourishing texture, and even applying it to already moisturised skin.

CAN MINERAL MAKEUP BE USED ON OILY SKIN?

Mineral foundation is ideal for oily skin thanks to its oil-free formula, which does not contain oils or silicones, leaves skin free to breathe, and above all does not clog pores, providing your face with an even coverage and counteracting the unattractive "shiny effect".

IS MINERAL MAKEUP ALSO SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH SKIN PROBLEMS SUCH AS ROSACEA, ACNE, SENSITIVE SKIN, OR COUPEROSE??

Is mineral makeup also suitable for people with skin problems such as rosacea, acne, sensitive skin, or couperose? Mineral makeup is 100% inert, which means it doesn't irritate the skin or clog the pores while still covering imperfections perfectly. In addition, you can mix mineral foundations or concealers with your own moisturising cream to create a creamy foundation that's perfect for you skin's needs with no harmful additives.

HOW DO I REMOVE MINERAL MAKEUP?

Just like conventional makeup, mineral makeup can be removed with a normal facial cleanser such as liquid soap, cleansing milk, Nuvola Struccante or Beauty Farm.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CREATE CUSTOMISED GLOSSES WITH MINERAL POWDERS?

Absolutely! Just add the desired quantity of mineral powder to a transparent gloss or to our Nettare per Labbra. The more powder you add, the more intense the final shade will be. Be careful, not all pigments are suitable for use on the lips.
You can find out if a Neve Cosmetics product is lipsafe by checking that the third character of the article code is an "L".
Example: Product code: VOL-BL039F -> product is lipsafe Product code: VO-BL037F -> product is not lipsafe

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CREATE CUSTOMISED NAIL VARNISH WITH MINERAL PIGMENTS?

Absolutely! Pour a small amount of mineral powder into a bottle of transparent nail varnish, put the lid on, and shake well. Repeat until you achieve the desired intensity. In general, any good quality transparent nail varnish works well for this. The best are the ones contain metallic spheres to remix the mixture if the pigment accumulates on the bottom. You can mix different colours to create unique and personal shades: the combinations are endless.

WHAT DOES "CRUELTY-FREE BRUSH" MEAN?

If you didn't know, so-called "natural bristles" on makeup brushes are made from animal hair. The hair comes from various species of mammals, including domestic species, which are bred intensively for their coat, just like animals are for fur. We believe we have an ethical duty to use a cruelty-free alternative. This is why we only produce synthetic professional brushes: beautifully soft, safe bristles and no poor creature on your conscience! For further information, please see this page.

ARE NEVE MAKEUP BRUSHES SPECIFICALLY CONCEVEID FOR MINERAL MAKEUP?

Absolutely not! All our brushes are designed to be multi-purpose, whether it's for conventional makeup or mineral makeup. You can find the features of each product and all its possible uses in the product information.

DO SYNTHETIC BRUSHES LOSE THEIR BRISTLES LIKE ANIMAL BRUSHES?

Losing a limited number of bristles is normal when you first start using any makeup brush, as long as it doesn't happen after that. Our brushes are of extremely high quality and it's very unusual for one of our brushes to lose bristles during use. If you experience any problems with one of our products, please contact our customer service team

HOW SHOULD I LOOK AFTER MY MAKEUP BRUSHES?

Our brushes do not need any special cleansers or treatments; here's how to clean them quickly and easily at home.

CAN I USE ETEREA/SUBLIME/ESOTICA CREAM INSTEAD OF MY USUAL SUNSCREEN?

The Esotica, Eterea, and Sublime creams are moisturising face creams, not sunscreens. We have chosen to enrich them not only with various active plant ingredients, but also with two sun filters because we believe this is the best way to prevent skin ageing. In fact, they provide continuous daily protection (that is, every day, not just in the summer), filtering UVA and UVB rays and significantly reducing photo-induced skin ageing. In practice: the best way to combat wrinkles is to stop them forming in the first place by using light but constant protection. Because these creams provide low-level, everyday protection (SPF 6), they cannot replace suitable sunscreen. It is therefore important to always apply specific sun protection products before prolonged and intense sun exposure (beach, mountain glare, etc.).
